Vitamin D Injection

Our bodies can make vitamin D from sunlight using cholesterol in our skin cells. But in the UK this can only happen between April and September as the sun isn’t strong enough during the winter.

The government and world health organization (WHO) advise 5-15 minutes in the sun before 11 am and after 3 pm without sunscreen, with forearms and lower legs uncovered and is sufficient for most people to make enough vitamin D.

It is not easy to spot a deficiency, some people may feel tired while others suffer aches and pains. Everyone is advised to take vitamin D supplements during the winter months between October and March.
